Theory of particle volume fraction calculation in EDEM-Acusolve coupling

Hi all,

I tried to figure out the computational details of particle volume fraction calculation in EDEM-Acusolve coupling, such as the theory and formulae, but I only found some brief introduction through the Altair Website. So can anyone tell me how to get the theory about particle volume fraction calculation used in EDEM and Acusolve?

In the case that the particle size is larger than the mesh, the volume fraction is distributed to neighboring cells/mesh elements according to the following reference:
