Hello,
I’m currently working on a project and would like to know whether Altair AI Studio has the capability to support either of the following two options after importing a collection of images:
a) Manually tagging visual attributes for each image one by one (e.g., color, texture, size, shape, material, etc.), or
b) Automatically generating visual attribute tags for each image (e.g., color, texture, size, shape, material, etc.) for my review and confirmation.
Once attributes are defined (either manually or automatically), my goal is to perform statistical analysis on these attributes in order to identify meaningful patterns and relationships across the image dataset.
After asking ChatGPT whether this could be done in Altair AI Studio, it responded (without knowing my version) that:
“If you're using the student edition, you do not have full access to the extension repository, and therefore cannot download the necessary operators.”
Upon confirming that I do indeed use the student version, it added:
“The student edition (and some standard installations) of Altair AI Studio:
a) Does not provide access to the full Altair Marketplace.
b) Limits access to advanced image-related operators such as:
‒ Color descriptors (like histograms or color moments)
‒ Texture features (e.g., LBP, Gabor filters)
‒ Visual embeddings (e.g., ResNet50, MobileNet, etc.)
These components require the paid version of Altair AI Studio.”
Based on this information, I contacted an Altair representative to ask whether the paid version indeed provides access to additional extensions and image analysis operators, and if so, what is the cost for a single-user license of that version.
However, the response I received only confirmed that I am using the student edition and redirected me to the Altair Community for further inquiries.
If anyone can help clarify:
- Whether the paid version does include access to the operators or capabilities required for this kind of image attribute extraction and statistical analysis,
- And, if so, what the process or pricing would be for accessing that version,
I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for your support.
