Freesize optimisation errors: element quality check & ERROR # 2148

Hi there, fairly new user of Hypermesh here. I am struggling to get the free size optimisation to work for the 2D cross-section of a float. This is being done after importing the .stl from a prior topology optimisation. I would greatly appreciate any help.

I am currently getting an error as follows: *** PROGRAM STOPPED: ERRORS DURING ELEMENT QUALITY CHECK.

When I auto fix the elements, I get a new error (as well as the geometry getting deformed):  A fatal error has occurred during computations:   *** ERROR # 2148 ***  Invalid design problem.  All the sensitivities of response 1 (objective) are zero.

Many thanks

    Hi,

Can you try running with PARAM,CHECKEL,NO card?

    Thanks…

I'm having a similar problem. How do you set the Card in this case?

    Hi Sean,

Are you asking about PARAM,CHECKEL card?

If yes, you can right click in the model browser, then select Create—>cards—>Param.

Next you can scroll down in the model browser (2nd window) and select CHECKEL and mark it as NO.

    Thanks…
