CONTACT interface ERROR # 2608

Hello guys, l got this message when l tried to run an thermal analysis: 'On CONTACT interface 22 the line from Slave node 1885735 to the Master makes an angle of 90.0 degrees with the normal to the Master patch.'

But there was no error in the static analysis using the same model. How can l fix this ? Thanks!

Hi,
Probably OptiStruct is not finding the projection of secondary to main surface to create the contact. Please, review this contact interface 22, you might have to extend the main surface to include matching elements on secondary surface.

Thank you for your advice.

The contact surface element containing the node is deleted, and the error disappears. I think it may be because too much contact in the model leads to over-constraints.
