Inspire Design Explorer - Gauge variables

Dear community,
I'm setting up a design of experiments study using Inspire Design Explorer but I'm missing a fundamental feature: gauge variable for parts defined by surfaces only.
They're not automatically available as design variables.
There's no option to set it up from the Property Editor like some other variables:
And although I managed to retrieve the thickness information through from the part Python property sheetThickness, I can't use it as a design variable:
Any suggestion? I must be missing something…
HyperMesh isn't an option - the goal is to vary geometric parameters on top of the gauges. I would also like to avoid going into parametrized files in HyperStudy.
Thanks!

Hi @Paulo_Liborio,
You are correct in that parameters under the Mass Properties heading do not look to be able to be assigned as a Variable for use in the Design Explorer in this current release.
Gauge Optimization can be carried out using the Optimize Part tool:
Gauge optimization can be run on its own or concurrently with topography optimization.
For more on Gauge Optimization, please refer to the following Help Documentation
Hope this helps!

Hi Adam!
Thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately, it doesn't help. I'm not trying to optimize thickness just yet…
But I think I've found a workaround: I'll design my part as a solid and have the thickness as a geometric parameter. When extracting the midsurface later on, it will be correctly assigned to the parts' properties.
Thanks!

Hi @Paulo_Liborio,
That is also a good solution! That should definitely work as described.
Thanks,
