    Hi Huân Ngô,

I can see that you have applied for a license but the license is not approved.

Please use your university email ID to request the Student Edition.

    Huan,

Your license was approved and delivered to you.

The software requires a license file to function, please login to your Altair Store account to download the license file.

You should find the license file in the Student Edition Downloads section,

After downloading the license file, rename it to altair_lic.dat and place the same in the <installation directory>/security folder

Thank you for your reply. I have downloaded it and still get this error:

    Altair License Manager: License error

    Feature: GlobalZoneEU
    Error Code: 9
    Error Description:
    [LOCAL] C:/Program Files/Altair/13.0-edu/security/altair_lic.dat - (Err: 9) Feature not found

I have attempted to use the license on Windows on this machine using Parallels on my mac as the HW Beta version wasnt working on my OSX El Capitan, but that didnt work either, Now i have installed another version of windows using bootcamp and the license isnt working anywhere.

Use windows folder options > unhide known extensions, to make sure the file is named altair_lic.dat and not altair_lic.dat.dat,

You need to confirm if the Ethernet address in the license file is the correct one and matches the one in your machine.

When you open the license file in a text editor you will see an Ethernet address there in a line that says 'ETHERNET =

The Ethernet ID is the id of your machine which is exactly 12 hexadecimal numbers. For example D4WRF478F398

Please check your computer’s Ethernet address, by using the almutil -hostid application from the Start > Altair > Tools > Admin tools Menu

The listed Host ID should be used to generate the license file, That means if the host ID provided by the application and below methods does not match the one in the license file, please request for the license file again with the correct Ethernet ID.

You can also find it by running ipconfig/all in command window and check for physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection:

    cid:image003.png@01CF0B7F.86CDCC60

Alternatively run getmac in command window to find out available Ethernet addresses

    cid:image004.png@01CF0B7F.86CDCC60

    Thank you for the reply.

Im afraid the steps led me to find the Ethernet IDs do not match. Please see the screenshot and advise.

check for physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection,

I do not see this in the image below, perhaps you can when you scroll down the ipconfig result,

also run ipconfig/all after you switch off bluetooth and wifi, also paste the output of almutil  -hostid application from the Start > Altair > Tools > Admin tools Menu
