Structural members to a line design

I need to add structural members to a buggy, I have the desing only in lines (1D) so I need to simulate the structure, i try it using a property: Analysis>property>bar>beam to apply structural members like C beams, tube, rec tube etc, how could I do it?, When I run the simulation is only simulated as lines not as a structural profile, how can I do it??
