OptiStruct: MATHE: Foam material

hi,
Let's consider a system where two plates (made of any material, with given dimensions) are placed with an EPDM foam sandwiched between them. One plate is fixed, while a force of 50 N is applied to the other plate. I want to determine the displacement (or compression) of the foam from its original shape due to the applied force.
Since I am new to this type of non linear analysis in optistruct, could you guide me step by step on how to perform a proper analysis?

Hi Naviner_76,
You can do this analysis in Optistruct. For foam material you can define MATHE which is hyper elastic material. Refer the link for this.https://help.altair.com/hwsolvers/os/topics/solvers/os/mathe_bulk_r.htm?zoom_highlight=foam+material
You can define contact between the plate and foam component.
Constrain one plate in all dof, apply the required force on the other plate.
Then you can do the Nonlinear set up for the analysis.
You can refer the below tutorial for NL static analysis.
for hyperelastic material, follow the below example model.
Thanks
