How can i deactivate altair license without access to previous computer

Hi I don't have access to my old PC where I had installed Altair. How can proceed to be able to reactivate the license in a new PC? Thanks

HI,

Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the student license with the same license key.

Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down and is only allowed a few times per user.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –

Note that this deactivation and reactivation is limited to very few times per user. After exhausting the number of deactivations and reactivations the license key will not be usable and no new license key will be provided.

Note: if you do not have access to the older computer, i.e. if it is lost or malfunctional please let us know in this community and we can deactivate the license for a limited very few times per user.

To activate the license on another computer, you must first deactivate it from the computer where it was previously activated.

To deactivate your license from your previous computer, please follow these steps:

1. Locate and double-click on almutil_gui.exe to open the Altair License Utility. Navigate to System (C:) > Program Files > Altair > 2023 > security > bin > win64 > gui.
2. In the Altair License Utility, go to Tools > Deactivate License.
3. Enter the activation key in the provided box and click on 'Deactivate.' (Refer to the image below)
4. Once you have successfully deactivated the license on your computer, you can now activate the license on your other computer using the same activation key.

NOTE: Please note that there are a limited number of chances to deactivate and reactivate a license. After which it will not be possible to use the key, and no new key will be provided, Therefore avoid deactivating it several times.

You can now reactivate in the new computer with the same license key.
