EDEM problem.

Hi Everyone,
Recently, I have been researching the motion of flexible bodies, which are composed of a chain of spheres. My study has certain requirements for the initial position of the flexible body, as it needs to be located within the geometry I imported, as shown in the figure below. Are there any good methods to achieve this step?
Best regards,
Bai

Hi Bai,
I would create a rectangular box over the entire geometry and create a static factory in EDEM, the factory can be set to create 1 particle. If you choose factory BCC you can specify a start point. That start point will be the meta particle Center of Mass. You may also want to set the orientation as fixed rather than random.
If the particle isn't generated you can set the entire geometry to virtual (to prevent it from blocking the creation of the particle) to see where it is been generated and modify the settings appropriately.
