The extract parametric nodes on surf is available from the 'Extract Points and Nodes' ribbon.

The creation of midsurface from a surfaces pair can be handled by the Automatic Midsurfaces Extract tool.

The review thickness from midsurf tool is deprecated and replaced by the 'Apply Thickness to Midsurface' tool ⇒ This method retrieves the thickness value directly from the volume (solid, surface or element). This way, no need to keep the midsurf or to check the thickness of the midsurf. If you have a 2D mesh and the initial solid geometry, you can use them.
