Parts of model being deleted when using optimisation in Altair Inspire

Hi, Im a beginner so apologies if I am missing something obvious. I have watched tutorials on the optimization process. I have set the partitions, supports and forces but when i run the study it never seems to include the hole that will be fastened

Hi @tdt,

If the fastener is changed to a support and both supports allow rotation in RZ, then all loads are considered. If the middle support does not allow rotation, then the second support would not be needed.

Hi @tdt,

Have you tried replacing the fastener with a support load instead? I would attempt the same process using the support and the Rz DOF free to allow rotation along the constraint.
