check the license file

Hello all,

 

I just downloaded the software, I tried to run HyperWorks and I got this error

 

unable to create any client check the license file

 

I didn't know how to attach a photo to this post for the error

 

Can you help me successfully run the software?

    Are you using the full version of HyperWorks or the student edition?

     

    This is because once the software is installed successfully, you need a valid license file to run the software.

     

    This license file (if it is a standalone) must be named as altair_lic.dat and it must be placed in the security folder within the installation folder of the software.

     

    If it is a server license, you will have to install the license manager and configure the manager with the server license. 

     

    you can find out if the license issued to you by altair is a server license or a standalone license by checking if there is a count line in the license file, when you open it in the text editor, if it does it is a standalone license file.

    I installed the student version windows 8 edition

    The license file for the student edition is a standalone license, i.e. you need to rename it and place it in the security folder within the installation folder, it can be downloaded from the altair online store, student edition downloads section. Same place you found the student edition executable.

    Once you have ordered for the student edition, you receive a confirmation mail from altair store. (I assume you have already received this)

     

    We then approve the order, once the order is approved you will receive another mail from altair store saying your order has been approved, which means your license file is ready to be downloaded.

    Hello Rahul, I am Sameer Solanki, and I had requested for a student version license and had already placed the order from my email id raj.samsolanki@gmail.com. But I haven't recieved the license file in last two weeks. Please resolve the issue.
