Importing Cable Harnesses

When importing a .cfx file, the Cable Harnesses don't appear to be imported.

Is there a way to export and import Cable Harness instances?

    Hi @Troy_S ,

The frequency is not imported when importing a .cfx model into another. This is mentioned in section 2.13.1 Importing CADFEKO Model Files (.CFX) of the guide:

This is to protect the main model settings and parameters to which you are importing another model.

As for the cable import, please update your version. I see from the screenshots that you are using the old CADFEKO interface, "Legacy". Once updated, I believe you will have no issues importing the cables/harnesses.

    Hi @Troy_S,

I tested on my side and I can successfully import a .cfx that contains a cable harness into a model in v.2024.1

Can you please share the .cfx you're trying to import?

    Best,

    Zeina

Hi Zeina, thanks for looking into this. My version is v.2022-14827. Attached is the .cfx with the cable harness definitions. When I try to import this into a new model, the Cable Harnesses don't import. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

    Hi @Troy_S ,

I have successfully imported the model you have shared into an new empty model:

I see all Cable Harness parts correctly imported.

On another note, the error displayed in both the original and the imported models, is due to the upper frequency of the band you have defined, for which the MTL usability distance is violated.

If you have the possibility to update your version and retry, it would be great.

    Best Regards,

    Zeina

Zeina, thank you for verifying you are able to import the cable harnesses using your version. I cannot import cable harnesses using with my version v.2022-14827. Attached is a pdf of the screenshots of my importing steps. Besides the cable harnesses not importing, the Frequency setting does not import.

@Troy_S , glad it works now! Please note that v.2022.3 is getting also quite old and soon v.2025 will be available on the market place for installation. It's always good to have an updated version because of feature additions and enhancements.

Our license appears to be limited to a certain version and I don't know what that is. Can you tell from my account what version I'm limited to?

Unfortunately, I do not have access to that information. You can maybe create a support case for the licensing team to assist you on that.
