Generate h3d file from EDEM results
Hi all,
I want to convert the EDEM simulation results into animation H3D file for post-processing in HyperView, as it is described in the tutorial MotionSolve/EDEM co-simulation:
. However, I do not see the function 'Generate H3D from EDEM results', which should be available in MotionView, as described here . If I use the search bar to search for this function in MotionView it is also not working. I use the version 2024.1 of both EDEM and HyperMesh. Could anyone help me out with this, why is this function not available anymore in the software?Kind regards,
Pim

Hi,
In HyperView you can open the EDEM model directly from the simulation .dem file.
In HyperView if you go to File > Open and then in the Load Model section point the file towards the .dem file this will automatically populate the Load Results option and then selecting apply will load the results. There isn't any need to convert the H3D in the latest versions.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. I can open the .dem file in Hyperview and it shows the results of the EDEM simulations. However, I want to create an overlay of the DEM results on top of the MotionView results. This is not possible because the scale of both models is not the same. In EDEM the box with particles is set to 6000 mm x 4000 mm, which is also the case in the MotionView file. However, after importing the .dem file into HyperView, the box is only 6 mm x 4 mm, so there is a mismatch. Is there any solution to solve this?
I already tried if it was because of the unit settings in EDEM, but those are in mm for the lengths, which should be similar to MotionView where the lengths are also given in mm.
Kind regards,
Pim
