Hello HyperStudy users,

HyperStudy reads results of a complete CAE model & defining output responses on specific components & sets (nodes/elements) is not available by default. Also, HyperStudy cannot add output responses for specific HyperView post-processing settings such as Corner Data, Averaging etc. by default.

Hence, for all such scenarios, one can use the HyperView model connection in HyperStudy.

In addition to this, by using the HyperView model connection, one can view the images of the hotspots results as well which are extracted by default by HyperStudy’s ‘Media Sources>Find Media’ option (as shown below).

In this blog, we will demonstrate one of the ways of leveraging the HyperView model connection. By understanding its usage, one can use the same model type for defining output responses for corner results, simple averaging etc. requirements as well.

Use-case : Defining output responses from two different element sets in HyperStudy

Pre-requisite: Element/Nodal sets needs to be created in the OptiStruct model prior to using the .fem/.hm file in HyperStudy.

Step 1 : Perform ‘Test Models’ in HyperStudy & open the .h3d file in HyperView.

Step 2 : Create a HyperView session file (.mvw) for the results required to be added in HyperStudy using the ‘Hotspots’ feature of HyperView.

Step 3 : Copy the .h3d & HyperView session files (.mvw) from the ‘approaches\setup_1-def\run__00001\m_1’ folder to the main HyperStudy folder.

Note : do not add the required files (.h3d & .mvw) in another folder in the main HyperStudy folder as first-level hierarchy is required for the HyperView model connection to work as intended.

For the exact functioning of the HyperView model in HyperStudy, kindly refer to the procedural video mentioned below.
