The following topics will help you get up and running with DSim, Altair’s on-demand semiconductor electronic functional verification solution.

Install Required Software

  1. Install Visual Studio Code
    1. Go to the Visual Studio Code website.
    2. Select Download for Windows.
    3. Click the install the script: VSCodeUserSEtup-x64.
    4. Read and accept the license agreement.
    5. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  2. Install the prerequisite C++ redistributable if you don't already have it.


Create an Altair DSim Cloud Account

  1. Click here: Create Account or click the Sign Up button on the bottom of the DSIM webpage.
  2. Enter your email on the User Details form, then click Send Verification Code.
  3. Copy the code from your email, then paste it on the form.
  4. Click Verify.
  5. Enter and confirm a password for your account.
  6. Read the User Agreement.
  7. Select the box to accept the User Agreement.
  8. Optional: Select the box to receive more information.
  9. Click Create.
  10. You’ll be directed to the DSim Cloud webpage where you can log in to your account.


Install DSim Desktop from Visual Studio Code
You can easily install DSim Desktop directly from Visual Studio Code. Watch the video:
