Can I run K&C (kinematic and compliance) test on full vehicle ?
Dear Community,
sorry if my question is already answered but I am an inexperienced student user.
I am trying to find out how to run a K&C test on a full vehicle. In the documentation it shows how to run but mentions half-vehicle model.
Is it possible to run on full vehicle ?
When I try the Assembly wizard, the options I have are :
-Front end vehicle
-Rear end vehicle
-Full vehicle with driver
-test rig
-Powertrain model
I choose full vehicle with driver and then when I go to Task Wizard , I don't see the K&C test option. Is it maybe because the Full Vehicle with Driver is not compatible with K&C test ?
If yes, how can I create through Assembly wizard a Full Vehicle without a driver ?
P.S: I have already loaded the Vehicle Dynamics preference file
Thank you

Hi Jonathan,
Full-vehicle KNC events are available starting in MotionView 2022.3 using the new interface.
In the Entity Browser, you can find the full-vehicle KNC under Vehicle Tools >> Events >> General >> KnC.
This will auto-attach to any vehicle created using the Assembly Wizard, example vehicles, or custom vehicles that follow the necessary naming convention.
Hope this helps!

thanks for the info @Adam Reid
could you tell me how can i use the new interface in Motionview ? I am just clicking the MotionView icon and get into the old interface.
Also, could you tell me please how can i create a full vehicle assembly without any powertrain , brakes and without driver ? Currently i have only the option to choose full vehicle with driver and then it includes brakes and engine as well.

Thank youHi Jonathan,
The new interface is found in v2022.3 by first launching HyperWorks 2022.3, then choosing MotionView from the splash screen. For v2023, this new interface is featured regardless of how you launch MotionView.
For training on the new interface, please follow any of the free MotionView v2023 training on our E-Learning page: https://learn.altair.com/course/view.php?id=496. We currently offer an Introduction to MotionView/MotionSolve as well as MotionSolve for Vehicle Modeling course.
After you create an assembly, you can always delete any of the components you do not want to keep. In your case, you can delete the Systems for the Powertrain, Brakes, and Driver if you wish.
Hope this helps!
