Hyper Parameter Optimzation

In order to gain max perfromance from the established models I run parameter optimization. I generally use Evolutionary Optimization for this task. However,regardless of the model used, the perfromance metrics of the optimized models  are always lower than the default model results. I would be glad if you can give a  hint on this
