Want to use a macro in 'data item in 'Calculate data' operator ('sensor link')

I am extracting column values from a table using extract macro. However, when I using it in 'data item in 'Calculate data' operator , it is giving me the following error:
"Your connection is producing the wrong type of data. Try changing starting point of  the connection."
