Total field definition when using equivalent point source

When I define a spherical point source using EDITFEKO (for instance Qsmn=Q112) the total near- and far-field are both defined using Etot = Etheta+Ephi.

The EDITFEKO code: AS: 0 : -4 : 1 : 1 : 2 : 1 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 1 :  :  : 1
However when using a waveguide port, for instance for a horn antenna, then it is consistent with the documentation with Etot = sqrt(Etheta^2+Ephi^2).

Can somebody point out to me why this definition in the total field changes when using the equivalent source source; spherical mode.

I don't think that  the definition in the total field changes when using the equivalent source source.

I think the first formula (Etot = Etheta+Ephi) is general expression showing that the total field is a sum of two vector components (Theta and Phi)and the second formula (Etot = sqrt(Etheta^2+Ephi^2)) is that the total field's magnitude is given by square root of two vector's magnitudes (using Pythagorean theorem, vector sum).
