Pretension in Explicit - Radioss

Hello Everyone!!

 

I want to do a Drop analysis of an assembly. The Assembly consists of more than two parts connected by bolts. I have the pretension Loads.

 

Is it possible to apply (include) the pretension loads for the drop analysis (explicit)? Or is there any other way to simulate the effect of pretension?

Hi,

You can model the bolts using a spring element and give it a property- TYPE 32. Also there is a tutorial RD-3510 in help file named cantilever beam with bolt pre-tension.
