Optfeko error
Greatly appreciate the many chances to ask questions on this forum.
I am struggling to take my Feko model into Optfeko. The model (attached) solves in Feko without error, but Error 2331 arises when I attempt to invoke Optfeko.
I have attempted so far:
a) Reduce mesh setting to coarse
b) Reduced all advanced settings to most lax (growth rate, refinement factors, & element size)
c) Optimise to suppress small geometry features (0.1% to 10%)
d) lastly, converted the problematic structure (see attachement) to primitive so as to be able to repair, simplify & remove small features.
Are there any other solutions I can explore?
If there are, I would greatly appreciate advice.
Regards,
GS

I just noticed another issue with your model. There is a very small gap between the patch and the top surface of the dielectric. The patch is at z=1.60255 mm while the top surface of the dielectric is at 1.6017 mm. This very very small gap will cause wrong results!
These surfaces must be at exactly the same level and Unioned for a correct mesh to be generated.
The Altair_Feko_Getting_Started_Guide.pdf has example "3.5 Patch on Finite Substrate" that shows the steps how to do this.

You have a 1 micron finite thickness - this is causing meshing problems.
At 5.2 GHz, this is very likely not needed.
I would also suggest some finer local mesh sizes around the finite details of the geometry.

I apologise dearly for this.
Your help is God-sent.
