Each year I have problems renewing my software and authorizing my workstation. Instructions sent with renewal and website are not clear.

If you are on managed licensing, your machine only needs to be authorized once. No further action is required when your license is renewed.
If you are using On-Prem licensing, your license needs to be updated as described in this article.
