Road modeling

Hello,

I have been studying about road modeling and I have generated a random road from Matlab. The coordinates I have, are for x and y and does not represent the vertices of a triangle, so how can I use PCD to model road or are there any other alternatives.

The Matlab code I have used is based out of ISO 8608. Any insights on this will be helpful.

If anyone needs any data regarding this, I can provide that.

Regards

Draucis

    Hello Jagadeesh,

Thanks a ton for your help, yes it definitely helped as I was looking forward to understanding PCD road for a while now. Still my problem remains as the data I have from MATLAB is different and I want to make a road profile out of it. Sorry for a lack of better understanding but from the file I have attached are you able to understand anything of how to use that data in a road file, because I don't have a clear image yet.

    hi Draucis,

you can use 3D spline road file from MV installation folder "....\hwdesktop\hw\mdl\autoentities\properties\Tires\ALTAIR_ROADS" and replace the xyz coordinates with available excel/matlab derived data and create the road using road tool. The additional information like obstacles can be deleted if they are not required. I have attached a sample road created using 3D spline for your reference.

    thanks,
