I have downloaded the latest version of Rapidminer on Mac , but program does not open as Apple can not verify if it is malicious software. How to solve this issue?

on the Community which shows how to handle the situation. If you scroll down slightly you'll see the part where it says "Issue: You cannot open RapidMiner Studio due to security warning" - this is where you'll find some helpful instructions. I hope this helps!
