Procedure for modelling 1D Bolt with Pretension

Can someone please describe a procedure for creating 1D bolts with pretension ? I did have a look at the PDF Bolt Modelling for crash. There is also a community post Rigid Bolt with Spring and Pretension - Radioss - Altair Products - Altair Community.

But there is no good resource/ clear description for doing it ? Help here would be very helpful for the whole community. Thanks
