Model a box fixed on a plate

Hello everyone,

I have a plate on which I want to model a kind of box (with known mass and inertia) fixed on it. So I put a CONM2 at the coordinates of the COG of the box, enter the mass and inertia.

Now I want to set it on the plate (no screws). Do I have to link all of the nodes of the surface to the CONM2, or just few of them (like the four ones in the corners) ? See pics below.

A second question : Is it preferable to use RBE3 or RBE2 in this case ?

Thanks for the answers !

    Hi,

The second case looks close to reality.

Prefer RBE3 over RBE2 for load transfer.
