Cannot Start Rapid Miner Server Service

Hello,

I was hoping someone on here can possibly help.  I have installed Rapid Miner Server 9.4.1 on an Azure VM running Windows 10.  I can run it using standalone.bat but when I try to run the service it gives a non-specific error and does not start.

Has anyone seen this behavior before?  I did a lot of troubleshooting but cannot seem to come up with a solution.

    Hi,

    have you checked the server.log file? Is there anything logged while starting the service?
    If it's not the case the service boot-up might be blocked by the '.r.lock' file (note the dot at the beginning of the name). Please verify if this file does not exist within the $install-dir/bin directory before starting the service - otherwise delete it.

    Thank you sooo much Marcel.  I did have the .r.lock file in there.  After removing that the server is now up and running.

    Appreciate the help.
