Get back Cloud Repository contents after trial ending
FabianTe
Hi,
while testing RapidMiner, I stored a lot of information in the cloud repositry. Now my trial has expired and the repo is gone.
Is there a way to at least get the contents back without paying?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Fabian,
for your needs you could use a RM Server on AWS or Azure. But I guess that you only want to have a central repository and you are not interested in the computing power of the server. To get that, the easiest and cheapest way is to monitor your local repositories with GitHub or similar. It takes a bit of extra work but it works, and you also get version control as a plus.

another easy option is to create a local repo inside a sync'ed cloud folder on your local computer e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc... That's what I do. Works very well.

Hi,
Unfortunately not. We announced in March 2019 that we would end the Cloud Repository on May 21st and it is now gone. We still have backups but it would require a significant cost for us to restore the data. Please contact me for further questions.
Cheers.

Oh, bummer.
Well, it was just educational stuff I can easily restore.
Mind me asking what the alternative to a cloud repository is now?
I liked being able to work on the same model on my laptop and desktop at home.

Thanks! I thought that RapidMiner wouldn't like that and it could cause issues or similar.
I will try that, thanks
