What is the quickest way to get started with RapidMiner?

I started watching the videos. However, the problem with the videos is that they sometimes assume the viewers have done certain tasks such as downloading a dataset without specifying its location. This is standing on my nerves

Hi @hopeglimmer,
You can download and read the book "Data Mining for the Masses" from Dr. Matthew North. It is a good introduction to RapidMiner...

Hi @hopeglimmer
@lionelderkrikor gave you a perfect path. When I started learning, Rapidminer youtube channel is the best one for me as I used to search for ways to import data etc (based on my need). on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/RapidIVideos
@IngoRM made some excellent interactive videos that help understand concepts easily.

Hello @hopeglimmer,
In my vast experience screwing things up, nothing works better than having a real project with a massive dirty database and a deadline. Why I bring this to the table? Because you can read "Data Mining For The Masses" (I have and love that book, and @lionelderkrikor is totally right in recommending it to you), you can follow the videos step by step all the way like @varunm1 mentions, and you can be the best student at the RapidMiner Academy but if you do not practice on your own and apply what you have learned in your project, you won't find yourself in the position of screaming for help because you don't know something, and you will be on your own solving problems.
Make sure you pick a project that is meaningful to you. You don't need to reinvent the wheel. Pick any project of your interest and try to replicate it. It will be good for you and for the researchers who wrote the book.
All the best,
