Define a heat flux

Hi everyone,

I am new to hypermesh, and I find the interface a bit confusing. I want to create a heat flux from an external file. When I import it as a field, the program asks me to select the elements where the flux is applied and then creates a group called convection loads, as well as a load collector. However, when I run the analysis, that load collector turns out to be empty. I dont know how to relate the imported field to the load collector. Thank you very much!!

I feel that I am missing an obvious step here but I do not know how to proceed.

As a bonus question, how do I create the load step for this analysis? Would this work?

I do not know if i have to specify a boundary condition, it should not be necesary, as I imputing the flux, right? I dont want to include any temperature loss, just the flux entering the structure.

Hi Alvaro. Have you ever tried Altair Simlab ? Defining the heat transfer input is easier in there in my opinion. And it runs the same OptiStruct solver.  After you have made one model/subcase in there you should see things more clearly. (you can import the OptiStruct file later in HM).
