Rapid Miner 8.1 - Design view is blank and non-interactable

After upgrading to 8.1, the design view is no longer viewable nor can I build any frameworks in it. I have already tried disabling all the extensions with no luck.

    please try to reset your views with View -> Restore Default Perspective.
