Cost sensitive modeling and class imbalance

Hello everyone,

Can anyone post process info for making good cost sensitive models?
I have had limited success with the Metacost operator in my processes and balancing through downsampling the larger (negative) class.

Any thoughts/comments/observations/jokes?
