No Results from simulation
When I run my model, the solver starts to run but hangs up without showing any error or warning,
I just get to see the following output:
The amount of memory allocated for the run is 1000 MB.
This run will use in-core processing in the solver.
After this, nothing happens, neither can I kill the run nor abort it or pause it also, I cannot close the window.
In the top right corner, it shows,
Iteration: 0
Progress: 100%
Iteration progress: 0

The model is still running at my end...
Meanwhile, Can you share the .out from RADIOSS?
0 -
The model at your end works or it shows 1 Engine Running...........??
Because it takes a lot of time to process maybe
0 -
Abhi,
Solver window shows engine is running but in backgroud RADIOSS is used to solve the problem.
So two RADIOSS .outs will be written in your working directory, one which ends with _0000.out and other is _0001.out

Why the process or the solver is stuck, I do not understand,
Should I save my OptiStruct File and Radioss file in same folder or how to proceed??
Can you please explain??

So, any update or suggestions??

Hi Abhi,
Is this an explicit run?
If yes, the event time is very huge and I think it will take a long time to run... and this is why you see '1 Engine Running'
Also, you should see A01 files in your working directory which are interim animation files.
If you are using student editions, you cannot use these to view results though.
Apart from this, I see that there are no slave nodes defined for Rigid wall. Please check and update and select the event time accordingly. 1e6, I think very huge

@Prakash Pagadala thank you for your reply,
The analysis is Explicit type,The units chosen are given in Control Card: Kg, kN, mm, ms.
I am not using Student Edition,
The event time, I have updated,
Slave nodes also defined.
Now it gives me an error
*** ERROR # 4001 ***
Running RADIOSS starter, 1 ERROR and 0 WARNINGs have been detected.ANALYSIS COMPLETED.
*** SOME ERRORS WERE REPORTED DURING THE RUN,
*** PLEASE VERIFY RESULTS AS THEY MAY BE INVALID.

Can you share all .out files from your working directory?

Hi Abhi,
Are you using rubber material?
I see that there is an issue in material definition.
Could you please share more details about the material?
0 -
The material I am using is Rubber material,
In my latest the simulation runs without any Error or Warnings but,
The ball does not strike on the rigid wall....
Now I am figuring out this new issue..........
Attached are my files, please check for required changes..

Hi Abhi,
I am a bit confused about the model setup.
You have SPCs on a free node, why is it?
You can apply initial velocity to the rigid wall, but I don't see any motion to the rigid wall.

The SPC on free node has been removed, anyways it did not have any significance.
I need the ball to strike on Rigid Wall which must remain stationery,
Now after few changes, I have a new error,
*** ERROR # 23 ***
SID 10 used on Case Control data SPC is missing in bulk data.************************************************************************
A fatal error has been detected during input processing:
*** ERROR # 23 ***

Now I am really getting fed up with OptiStruct,
I need a simple thing to simulate, Golf Ball to strike on a Rigid Wall (and not the other way around),
The simulation runs successfully without any errors and when I open Hyperview, the ball remains stationery,
No Results..
I dont understand what's the problem..
Radioss did it in One day..
Now I don't know what to change............

Hi Abhi,
As said there should be slave nodes or dist. But dist is very less. That is why I have included slave nodes in the attached file.
Note that for convenience I remodelled the rigid wall.

Thank you for helping out,
Did you get results out of it??
Because when I simulate and view results, the Ball does not even strikes the Rigid Wall,
Rather by its own starts moving away from it...........

Thank you for your support, I got the results.
Now to proceed, I need to perform Radiated Sound Analysis on the same model. For this, I do not have any knowledge and I cant find any tutorials or anything.
The link of Hyperworks Help Home, opens a theory of Radiated Sound Analysis but help with applying all the cards is not available.
Anyways, to proceed, I created Second Load Step, of type Freq. Resp. (direct)
With STATSUB (PRELOAD): With selection of EXPDYN loadstep. RADSND is also defined and Output of SINTENS, SPL, SPOWER is requested.
Control Cards: ACMODL, PARAM etc are defined.
Do I need to define FREQ??
And I dont know how to assign CDSMETH because, I have defined Load Collector for it but LOADSTEP, I dont know, also the solver shows an error asking for the same.0 -

This I cannot find in Optistruct, not even on the help, I am using the full version for my project, could you please help out more on Radiated Sound Analysis,
I have trouble in solving my error because of trouble in figuring out which card goes out with which??

Hi Abhi,
Can you share the error messages you are facing with?

==== Job completed ====@Prakash Pagadala, I just need to know, what kind of LoadStep should we assign to perform Radiated Sound Analysis while using RADSND.

@Prakash Pagadala, do you have anything to guide me??

Hi Abhi,
Yes, I need the .out file and if possible please share the model file.
Looks like there is some incompatibility in the model.

Hi Abhi,
I got the model but I see frequency cards in it which has nothing to do with impact.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
0 -
No you are right, those cards are not useful to the case...
I was just trying to learn something..........
@Prakash Pagadala, did you find anything??

Yes I have gone through that stuff, theoretically, it's okay, but while using the cards in the solver, it is not of much help...
Can you just check the loadsteps in the model and suggest what type of analysis and other card images be used...........
The file is already shared to you..............
