How to change from Solvers?

I have a model that runs static analysis in Radioss, which is now required for Acoustic analysis.

How do I transfer my model from Radioss-2017 to Optistruct-2017 without disturbing the card images and control card data?

    Hi Abhi,

    Goto Tools menu>> Convert>> OptiStruct>> RADIOSS.

Please note that all data (example material cards) may not be converted.

Those things that are not converted are impossible to find in OptiStruct solver deck..

The material card images and properties and control cards that are required for static analysis are not present in OptiStruct..

For example, ENG_RUN must Run for 15 seconds, how do I give it in OptiStruct??

    Abhi,

ENG_RUN defines the time of the event and I think this is not required for a static analysis.

As I said not all cards are supported for conversion.

After doing all things, I have this special error,

The amount of memory allocated for the run is 1000 MB.
This run will use in-core processing in the solver.

     *** ERROR # 4002 ***
Running RADIOSS engine, 1 ERROR and 0 WARNINGs have been detected.

     ANALYSIS COMPLETED.

*** SOME ERRORS WERE REPORTED DURING THE RUN,
*** PLEASE VERIFY RESULTS AS THEY MAY BE INVALID.

    ************************************************************************

A fatal error has occurred during computations:

      *** ERROR # 4002 ***
Running RADIOSS engine, 1 ERROR and 0 WARNINGs have been detected.

      ANALYSIS COMPLETED.

*** SOME ERRORS WERE REPORTED DURING THE RUN,
*** PLEASE VERIFY RESULTS AS THEY MAY BE INVALID.

*** PROGRAM STOPPED: FATAL ERROR(s) ENCOUNTERED.

    ************************************************************************

==== End of solver screen output ====

     ==== Job completed ====

    Now what??

You said you run static analysis in Radioss, is it correct? I think optistruct can run static analysis

And you said you transfer model from radioss to optistruct, but above special error shows that 'Running RADIOSS engine, 1 ERROR...'

In brief, what are you doing?

    Hi Abhi,

The error is not from OptiStuct or not from a static analysis using OptiStruct.

How do I solve this error?? The desciption given in output file is this:

    *** ERROR # 4002 ***
Running RADIOSS engine, 1 ERROR and 0 WARNINGs have been detected.
     They are listed below.

     ENGINE ERROR:
** ERROR : RADIOSS IMPLICIT STOPPED DUE TO LOADING DATA **
           ISTOP=0

      NLGEOM subcase        1, engine finished

How do I provide the ISTOP data in OptiStruct??

I have simulated a model in which two objects hit each other in RADIOSS(the simulation runs perfectly). I need to simulate the same in Optistruct, the results of Optistruct will be required for further analysis, but while running results in Optistruct, I encounter the error.

Could you share your input file?

@tinh, @Prakash Pagadala Luckily I solved the previous problem,

Now (not a surprise), a new Error has occurred,

    *** ERROR # 4021 ***
Material defined by MATHE (MID = 1) is not supported in NLGEOM,
     IMPDYN and EXPDYN subcases.

    ************************************************************************

A fatal error has been detected during input processing:

      *** ERROR # 4021 ***
Material defined by MATHE (MID = 1) is not supported in NLGEOM,
      IMPDYN and EXPDYN subcases.

*** Run terminated because of error(s) in the input data.

The analysis I have used already is NLSTAT kind, I dont know why it takes NLGEOM

How many loadsteps do you have?

Did you edit their card and check analysis type?

    Hi,

Can you share the loadstep details?

Instead of MATHE use MATS1 with type NLELAST if you are using NLGEOM

@Prakash Pagadala, your last suggestion was very useful but still I got one error after all modifications,

    ** ERROR 14: Missing property #    1 referenced by  CQUAD4 # 1.
*** Errors with missing, incorrect or duplicate IDs

    Hi,

some of your components has not been assigned property

    please check it again

When I run my model, the solver starts to run but hangs up without showing any error or warning,

I just get to see the following output:

The amount of memory allocated for the run is 1000 MB.
This run will use in-core processing in the solver.

After this, nothing happens, neither can I kill the run nor abort it or pause it also, I cannot close the window.

In the top right corner, it shows,

    Iteration: 0

    Progress: 100%

    Iteration progress: 0%

    Hi Abhi,

Looks like you are all set by now.

I see that you are running an explicit analysis using OptiStruct. What unit system are you following?

I have a file from you from another post which shows the event time is 1e6, which is huge for an explicit run.
