RapidMiner has stopped starting up

Hi appreciate your help on Win 7 32bit,

Was all working fine. (have uninstalled re-installed, deleted the .rapidminer file in \users\

gets to 'loading icons 'before existing on start up

Now rm.log file as follows

It will give option of starting in safe mode or ignoring but makes no difference as still existing, rm.log the same message.

Hi,

what did you change when it stopped working?
Can you please try to startRapidMiner via the RapidMinerGUI.bat file in the rapidminer/scripts folder and paste all the output until it crashes here?

Hi thanks for getting back

Possible I had updated Java to update 40, I therefore allowed the update today to 45

Previously the script was crashing before could save anything, and would not let me progress beyond, selecting safe mode or continuing, (crashed both ways)

Now have a new error file, hs_err_pid5244

I'm afraid that does not help much..
Could you please try the following:
You can start the RapidMinerGUI.bat via the commandline, so it will not close itself before you can copy the content.
To do so, please click the Windows start button, enter "cmd" (without the quotes) into the box at the bottom and press the Enter key. In the command console you can now navigate to the location where you have installed RapidMiner, e.g. by typing the following (after each line, press the Enter key):

d:
cd Rapid-I\RapidMiner\scripts
RapidMinerGUI.bat

if you have installed RapidMiner on \Rapid-I\RapidMiner

or

cd \
cd "Program Files (x86)\Rapid-I\RapidMiner\scripts
RapidMinerGUI.bat

if you have installed RapidMiner on C:\Program Files (x86)\Rapid-I\RapidMiner

Afterwards please copy everything (right-click, select "Select all" and press Ctrl+C) and paste it here.

Hi,

to be honest, I do not know what is wrong. The JVM crashes (aka the execution environment provided by Java for the application), which is generally a) not a good sign and b) usually not directly related to RapidMiner itself. The startup log does not contain anything unusual (you can safely ignore the "[Fatal Error] :1:1: Premature end of file" because it is generated by an empty connections.xml in the .RapidMiner5 folder).
So I'm afraid you will have to google for the problem, maybe others have experienced something similiar?
