Hello,

is it possible to determine the moment of inertia and the mass of a geometry with given materials directly from Flux?

I would look forward to an answer.

Zeitoun.

    Hello Ali;

    No, it is not possible, but what you can recover, is the weight if you have already indicated masse density in the definition of the material.

    It is also possible to compute face area or volumes. If you have the formulas of the inertia, you can create a parameter directly in Flux to compute the inertia thanks to existing inputs given by Flux.

    You're asking about working feature of a CAD software, like Catia, Solidworks, Creo, ....

    The question was about Flux, so the answer was also about Flux. With Altair suit, you can also recover the moment of inertia with OptiStruct or SimSolid.
