Torsional stiffness of solid shaft (angular disp. of solid elements)
Hello everyone,
I have a solid shaft to which I am applying torque and have to find the torsional stiffness of the same.
But I have read that we can not find out the angular deformation of solid elements. So how to measure it in optistruct? Or do I have to use the method of dividing the obtained displacement by radius?

You can compute from nodal displacement by dividing by radius from reference point.

Hi
another way is assign the shaft into a cylindrical system, so deform 'y' will be angle

Hello tinh,
Thanks for the reply.
Can you please explain how can I define the cylindrical csys?
