Hello Everyone,

I want to know that in the MATS1 card where we define stress strain curve, the value of strain is in percentage or what?

Regards,

Bharat

    Bharat,

The stress strain curves are input as real values in the TABLES1 card and referenced in TID in the MATS1

The help OptiStruct > Reference Guide > Input Data > Bulk Data Section:

    MATS1

and the student guide has ample information on the topic - http://www.altairuniversity.com/free-study-guide-book/

    Hello Rahul,

    Thank you for the reply,

But I still have my doubt uncleared. Suppose I have a rod of length 100 mm and deflection is 10 mm. strain is (10/100)=0.1.

My question is that while creating MATS1 card ,whether I should input strain as 0.1 or 0.001?

    Regards,

    Bharat

The data is not in percentage, the data entered should be in true stress/true strain

See section 19.9 of the ebook, the examples in the book using mat s1 and also the tutorials in help.
