Hello Everyone,

I have experimental fatigue test setup for rubber components in which load is applied in cyclic manner with a non zero mean value. This test is carried for more than 72 hours. Is it possible to use optistruct for fatigue analysis of such test as mentioned in the tutorial? can anyone shed some light on it?( I am concerned about how to apply load)

Or is it necessary to perform fatigue analysis? Can I replace it with say frequency response analysis or transient?

Regards,

Bharat

    Hi,

Optistruct does not support NLSTAT and NLGEOM load cases for fatigue.

using PARAM, NLFAT, YES to force OS to run fatigue solutions in conjunction with NLSTAT.

Please see the attached PARAM, NLFAT pdf and also the note in the pdf regarding cautious use of NL-Fatigue results as they may not be always accurate.

Based on the outcome of analysis ,fatigue analysis we do for life or no of cycle calculation and Transient and FRF for stress/ displacement calculations.

    Regards

    Hi Rahul,

I am doing constant amplitude cyclic fatigue analysis. then, how to define frequency and no. of cycles for fatigue?

    Thanks,
