SPC-SPCD pair and strain results

Hello,

I have two queries.

Suppose I want to give enforce displacement using SPC and SPCD pair in X direction with magnitude of 10mm. First I created SPC in a component.Which DOF are to be checked while doing so and what should be the magnitude there?( I have checked DOF1 with magnitude of 0). Then I have created another component with SPCD and gave DOF1 value as 10 while other DOFS being unchecked.

Am I correct? Also what about actual constraints in the model where I have to fix it. Should these SPC and the SPC in the SPC-SPCD pair should be in the same component?

I have been asked to find out the strain in a model. But isn't strain dependent on mesh size? Can anyone tell me how do I find correct value of strain in a 3d model?

1.yes you are correct.see attached model on similar requirement.

Yes, Maybe you can check this for yourself by analyzing a coarse mesh with fine mesh for instance, using FRA.
