Stress strain curve for compression and tension of rubber

Hello Everyone,

I have tension and compression stress strain data for rubber material. If my component is going through tension as well as compression loading, can I create a stress strain curve starting from compressive (third ) quadrant and then continuing it to tensile(first) quadrant? Or is there any other method for defining material for compression as well as tensile loads?

Regards,

Bharat

    Hi Bahrat,

You can use TABLES1 card to use Stress-Strain curve.

One rule for this to work is the x should be either increasing or decreasing.
