direct and iterative solver

Hello everyone,

How do I choose between direct and iterative solver?

I have already used card named 'solvtyp' and used 'nlparmx'. and tried options there. But while solving I always get a comment saying solver used is direct sparse matrix solver.

How do I choose iterative solver?

Please have a look at reference guide for SOLVTYP . Read comments 4 & 5.

thanks for the reply.

i have already used all options in solvtype. But whenever I run any analysis I always get the message saying sparse direct solver selected.

Can you share your comments on that?

Please check if you model has any of the below mentioned if you have linear static subcase with optimization
