Meshing Details for contact & tria elements

Hello everyone,

 

1. For meshing in hypermesh with tria elements, is it better to use right angle tria or equilateral trias?

 

2. In contact analysis, is it really necessary to match the mesh of the contacting bodies? Can I some details regarding it? (I have seen the examples given in help [solid block and the bearing where mesh is not matching between master and slave surfaces])

Hi Bharat,

 

1) I think it depends on how you want to capture the geometry.

 

2) It doesn't matter whether the mesh is matching or not and node count match. So, don't worry about element quantity match in master and slave.
