"Calling other java libraries"

Here's a newbie question for ya, but I'm not too familiar with Java development.

Can I call external Java libraries from RapidMiner, for example those from lingpipe, GATE, or lucene?

If so, can you give me an outline of where to start?

The "Execute Script" operator enables exactly this, and even I've posted an example http://rapid-i.com/rapidforum/index.php/topic,2214.msg8755.html#msg8755 - so it must be easy!
