creating a continuous mesh from separate nested geometries while maintaining element sets

I am attempting to create a hex meshed head and brain model using hypermesh for use in FEA in Abaqus. I have five separate geometries representing the scalp, skull, cerebrospinal fluid, grey matter and white matter.

I can create a continuous mesh from the nested geometries however I cant maintain the individual element set identities of each of the meshes when exporting them to Abaqus. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i'm sorry, can you add a few more deatils and maybe pictures of what is going on?

it would be helpful. I didn't get it about the sets.
