"Do I need an OEM License?"

Hi there,

I would like to get some operators from Rapid-i and build an own (simpler) data mining software.

My question is: If I am going to sell this software, I need an OEM License right?

How much does that cost?

Hi George,

well the short answer is: yes!

To explain it in a little bit more detail: there are basically two options if you want to integrate RapidMiner in another product:

1) You can freely integrate RapidMiner into the software, if you publish your product under the same license as Rapidminer, which is the AGPL.

2) You integrate RapidMiner into your software by obtaining an OEM license. How much this will cost depends on a variety of factors, namely the scope of your tool, etc. If you are interested in obtaining such a license, you should send a short mail to sales@rapid-i.com and let us know how we can contact you. We will then contact you as soon as we can.
