FEA and Systems Engineering

Hi all,

I am trying to integrate structural analysis with systems engineering software. The goal is to be able to modify the CAD model and run the FEA analysis from SysML-based software (i.e., MagicDraw) to receive information on whether the principal stresses do not go beyond a certain threshold. Is it possible for Hypermesh to allow for a parametric FEA file where lengths can be modified or parts can be added (e.g., like an additional rib in a wing) to the CAD model?

Thank you for your time!

Best,
Marcos dos Santos

    Marcos,

this is not so simple to be accomplshed because it depends on serveral factors. In HM you could build a TCL script for that and try to build your parametric model.

If you're working with solid models, i would go to SimLab which has really nice and easy automation capabilities in general for tetra mesh.

Also considering the engine itself behind the scenes, we have HyperStudy which allows you to perform these parametric studies, coupled with HM and SL.

I'd say depending on what you need it's feasible, but more details need to be discussed.
