Yes, Altair SLC supports the compress system option with CHAR, BINARY, YES or NO.

Character compression is based on the RLE (Run Length Encoding) algorithm.

Binary compression is based on the RDC (Ross Data Compression) algorithm.

These apply to WPD and WPDSEQ engines.
